My short story, Excerpt from The Geusian Ladies Society Food InfoManual, is included in this charity anthology by the Writers Abroad online writing group.

“The anthology takes as its theme food, drink and recipes from around the world. It is a tantalizing collection of fiction and non-fiction, full of spice and flavour and sprinkled with mouth-watering recipes. The wide-ranging, sometimes bittersweet, contributions show how adaptable an ex-pat has to be to leave familiar dishes behind and venture into the culinary unknown.”

The anthology is available on Lulu now: Foreign Flavours by Writers Abroad in Literature & Fiction. All proceeds will go to The Book Bus.

My short fantasy story, Looking for a Knight in Shining Armor, has sold to Daily Science Fiction. As I have very much been enjoying their mailing list (a snippet of speculative fiction Mon-Thurs and a longer story on Fridays), I’m thrilled that I will be included.

I received an honorable mention for the first quarter Writers of the Future contest.

The first issue of the Journal of Unlikely Entomology has been launched and includes my short story, Plague of Locusts, as well as a gorgeous illustration by Linda Saboe.

I thought I’d post a snippet of steampunk for your delight and delectation. This piece was inspired by the Forgotten Futures story contest in New Scientist.
